The PSAT/NMSQRT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a standardized test that is taken in a student's junior year of high school.
The PSAT/NMSQT measures:
- Critical reading skills
- Math problem-solving skills
- Writing skills
Why Take the PSAT?
Students may want to take the test to gain important firsthand practice for the SAT. or to enter into National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) scholarship competition.
Students must sign up for the test through their high school. A copy of the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT is available for test preparation through your high school guidance counselor or administrative office.
